In-home Dog Training and Behavior Consulting
Our dogs are our best friends, but they can also be challenging.
Do you dread walking your dog around the block?
Are you struggling to resolve undesirable behaviors?
Have you just adopted a new dog and want to get them started off right?
If so, private training may be just what you’re looking for. No need to rearrange your schedule, drive across town, or wait for a group class to start. You will receive personal, one-on-one attention in the privacy of your own home, at times that work for you. Using only positive, humane training techniques, together we will customize a plan specifically to your needs, focusing on the areas you feel you need the most help.
In-home Dog training is perfect for:
Biting, Jumping, Chewing
Basic Manners
Loose Leash Walking

Housetraining for Newly Rescued Dogs

Jumping on Visitors
Object/Food Guarding
Preparing Dogs for Group Classes
...and many other issues and concerns
Your Dog is a Genius (They’re Just Using Their Powers for Evil)
Right now, "Come" sounds like a suggestion to run in the opposite direction, and your walks feel more like you're being dragged. From Simi Valley to Calabasas, we bring stress-free, positive reinforcement training to dogs across Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, and the West San Fernando Valley.
The Science of Good Vibes
Ditch the "Alpha" Myth: You don't need to dominate. You just need to be more reinforcing than a squirrel.
Rewards Over Rules: High-value incentives work better than "corrections." Dogs learn best when they’re excited to participate.
Real Connection: Build a partnership based on trust, not threats.
Why Us?
We understand the local distractions—from busy sidewalks to those non-stop leaf blowers. Our training is judgment-free and designed to help your dog navigate daily life with confidence.
Ready to trade the frustration for a better bond?
How It Works:
Call, text, or fill out the Contact Form.
Together, we will choose a day and time for the appointment and Laura will send a history form to fill out. This saves time gathering information during the session.
During the initial 90-minute appointment, Laura will assess your dog’s behavior and teach you and your dog skills to help you reach your goals.
After each appointment, you will receive an email with detailed written instructions for the exercises covered, relevant graphics, and videos demonstrating the exercises when available.
You are never required to commit to a certain number of training sessions or buy a package. If the issue is simple, one session may be all that is needed, but discounted packages are available if multiple sessions are necessary. We are focused on you, your dog, and what you need to be successful.
Laura does not charge extra for multiple dogs.
Laura offers in-person dog training in the West San Fernando Valley, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Simi Valley, Santa Monica, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu.

“We were very lucky to have found Laura! We needed more help and guidance to deal with our dog's aggression and she showed us simple and effective ways to do this. We were amazed at how fast some of the techniques worked!! Laura not only helped us turn our pet into a more enjoyable dog, she reduced our frustration and anxiety, both of which mean a lot to us.”
