Pawscast #21: “Second Dogs” (25:12) We get our first dog after much planning, waiting until the time is just right so we can devote the necessary amount of time to training it properly. Then, after the first dog is grown and wonderful we get a second dog, and for some reason we expect the first dog to train the newcomer. Or, we are disappointed when the second dog doesn’t instinctively know how to do the things we spent so much time training the first dog. We forget the time & effort we put in. In this podcast we discuss these issues.

Pawscast # 23: “Chasing and Prey Drive” (20:37)
Today’s “paws-cast” is about “Chasing & Prey Drive” and it’s up on the Doggie Dish site now. It’s a tragedy when a dog chases and injures or kills any small animal. Unfortunately, it’s behavior that’s usually been tolerated to some extent up until it turns deadly. Prey drive exists in all dogs, but it’s possible to inhibit the behavior patterns associated with prey drive if you 1)recognize them, and 2) understand how. 11/17/09

Pawscast #25 “Dogs and the Holidays” (28:24)
The holidays can be an exciting but hectic time for people. It’s easy to understand why sometimes that means the dog is the last thing on a person’s mind. Sometimes this can lead to problems such as behavior that gets out of control, dogs that get loose, or an emergency visit to the vet when Fido has over-induldged on rich food or chewed on something dangerous. Listen to this podcast to learn about things to be on the lookout for, and ways to avoid problems. 11/24/09
