The AKC is going to begin a 3 stage process for allowing the registration of mixed breed (a.k.a. All American) dogs. The purpose, among other things, is so AA dogs can compete in AKC events, such as Obedience, Agility and Rally. This is a good thing because there are many more AKC shows than there are other types which allow AA dogs to compete. So there will be more opportunity for a dog of unknown heritage to have fun with his owner, whether or not he comes home with a ribbon!

I have very mixed feelings about this. I’d love to hear your comments. Will write later on why my feelings are conflicted.
